Damn the spam

Sunday, May 6 2007

I got a manual spam that I ended up reading read, which I guess they should have some spam points. But what I am going to do is post it here, with the email so hopefully *fingers crossed* they will get inundated with spam.

subject Change of name

Hi Liz (eee WTF? we are not on first name basis and certainly not on a nick name basis. Manual spam since I never use this name. This is not even my name)

Many thanks for returning the broker authority, membership etc. (What can’t be arsed to list all the supposedly documents that I sent you …. lazy spambitch)

Are you wanting to change your investments to reflect that you have reverted to your maiden name? (Nope, you have not a clue what my life status is) If so, we will need a copy of your birth certificate, a letter showing your old and new signature, and a letter from your solicitor advising that you are separated and resuming your maiden name. (yeah right … please hold your breath while waiting, that would solve the problem.)

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

It’s amazing how Spammers can get people so riled up! I know they do me. Maybe it’s time to switch emails. Or get an email for personal use and one for other use. I have a zillion different ones for different uses.

Best thing is to not open the Spam email. though. cos then they know they have a ‘live’ one and will sell the email address to others.

My first thought was when I saw the subject line “Change of name” was that someone wanted to use my lizze name and when I read it through I got so annoyed. My payback is hopefully that a spider program will pick up the email address and spam it.
