An interesting read

So Heather Brooke and The Guardian had to go to an information tribunal to get the Minutes for the Board meeting re the Hutton mess.
Firstly, BBC is a public funded organisation and therefore all its information should be regarding as free unless there is a special need for not letting the public know.
The notes, here and here, are an interesting read and shows that one the main issues for the Board is look after themselves and not what is the best for the BBC.
The best thing for the BBC would have been to back the organisation and critique the white wash Hutton report. The Board failed. A whole 100%.
There are several WTF moments while reading the Minutes.

NIce insights Lizze. BBC is by far the most ethical at “that” level of media powerhouse and games. However, you never know if there is a vested interest or not. Besides .. all the pdf doc (minutes) you showed were are on BBC itself. umm.. interesting If someone wanted he could have easily hidden some parts of it. There is no chronology in the doc if u notice. That doesn’t mean i am saying it was done. just .. wondering.

I picked up the story at the BBC News site and felt that the right thing to do was to link through to the place where I found the info. I don’t know why the Guardian didn’t show the info that they fought to see.
I am sure that these docs have been ‘cleaned-up’ somewhat since it was such a big thing and they must have known that it would published in public. In fact, I am surprised that some of the remarks are so crude and stupid.
BBC as a news org. didn’t loose that much cred since history has already proven them a whole 100% right. The government / PM did sex up the intelligence dossier and no damn WMD were found in Iraq. So BBC was right and still got royally screwed over by the establishment, what does that tell us?
UK went to war cos of the threat of WMD and not to topple Saddam as was the reason for the US. I was lied to by Tony Blair cos he had made a promise to Georgey boy that he shouldn’t have.

That is true Lizze.. u were lied to and so was I .. coz everythng these days is so linked.. and act of one nation has repercussions on another.
The immediate resignations didn’t help the case either. Hutton report is surely biased.
Did u read Bush’s speech of accepting mistakes… Too late too little.
